  • Use the System Management Interface (SMI) to manage user accounts, IDs, and privileges.
  • Describe the signaling requirements between CM and CM Messaging.

Maintenance:

  • Perform backups and restores on the CM and CM Messaging.
  • Install CM software and firmware updates.
  • Install CM Messaging software and firmware updates.
  • Differentiate between the available upgrade/update tools with respect to their function.
  • Describe the tools and reports available to monitor CM system performance.
  • Describe the tools and reports available to monitor CM Messaging system performance.

Troubleshooting:

  • Differentiate between trunk side and lineside problem origination, administration, and resolution.
  • Differentiate between normal mode and failover mode.
  • Given a failover scenario, resolve issues to return to normal mode.
  • Describe the tools and administrative options to address voice quality issues.
  • Describe the causes of station issues.
  • Differentiate SAT commands necessary to troubleshoot routing/tracing issues.
  • Use maintenance/management tools to determine the sources of alarm notification.
  • Determine which supporting documentation is to be used for alarm research and diagnosis.
  • Given a problem scenario, determine the appropriate log to consult.
